Family Karate Class: These classes are taught by Master Larry Mattox, a 6th-degree black belt. Master Larry has 40 years of martial arts experience and has been teaching for 39 years. Besides excellent self-defense, karate will teach you discipline, respect, coordination and help you build self-confidence. This 12-week session is for ages 6-adult. Time/Dates: 10:15-11:15 a.m., Saturdays, January 7-March 25. Fee: Member: $100; non-member: $125. (10 person minimum, sign up by January 5).

Lifeguard Certification @ Paris - Bourbon County YMCA Tickets

The YMCA will offer an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class. Participants must be 15 years of age on the date of the class. Students will be required on the first night of class to pass a swim test before continuing. For those who do not pass, the registration fee will be refunded in full. Maximum 12 participants per class. Times/Dates/Fee: February 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26. Training will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evenings and 12:00-6:00p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. This 6-week program, for boys and girls ages 6-12, is a great way to introduce kids to the basic skills of lacrosse – one of the fastest-growing sports in America – in a non-contact environment. Children will learn teamwork and sportsmanship during weekly classes in our gym. Time/Date: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Mondays, February 20-March 27.
